I find it interesting that they worshop their gods by showing humility, and they share rice and fruits with them, in doing so it is a generous gesture. The swastika emblem is used by the American Indians of the Southwest, their sand paintings are done with reverence as in Mumbi rice paintings.

As Christians we are preocupied with saving our souls and the comming of Jesus Christ to give us Eternal Life. The non Christian religions are content with the present life and seem to enjoy themselfs with and seem content with that.

I have never seen people doing the rice “paintings”. I’ve seen things like that FINISHED, and I’ve seen photos of colorful mandalas being made, but they were all still pictures. I really enjoyed looking over the lady’s shoulder with you while she spent a lot of time making her rice painting.

She was making an offering as a form of worship. We got jumpy video because we were so dazzled by the amazing sounds and the sights of worship in a Jain temple; it was a privilege. Thanks for writing!
